California Fire Code Changes for 2015:

  • Recent changes to the California Building Code (CBC) and the California Residential Code (CRC) require all “PV systems” permitted after January 1, 2015 be tested, listed, and identified with a fire classification per UL 1703. For further information visit: http://www.calseia.org/ul1703
  • California installations must include SolarWorld Sunskirts to comply with the fire code. One Sunskirt is required for each solar module per front edge (e.g. 2x2 layout would require 2 Sunskirts; 1x4 layout would require 4 Sunskirts). See SolarWorld tech bulletin 1029 Rev. A.
