Give your customers a winter break

Don't be like Scrooge this holiday season. Offer your customers something special.

Are you an HVAC business owner who says, “Bah, humbug,” every year as the winter time and holidays arrive? As the old adage goes, the reason for the season is giving. There’s no time like the holidays to show your appreciation and gratitude.

Try offering your customers a seasonal discount, such as no charge for winter maintenance, a discount card, or maybe a gift basket. Even a warm holiday card shows you appreciate your customer’s business.

A savings-oriented gift goes a long way with customers, because it leaves them extra money to buy presents. It may be the very thing that creates a loyal customer or referral, when a homeowner’s friend needs their HVAC repaired (or maybe they need a new system altogether).

With so many everyday expenditures, people are always looking to save and maximize their budget. Why not do something special for your loyal HVAC customers this holiday season?

Here are a few seasonal discount ideas that are sure to spread holiday cheer to your HVAC customers.

Money off service: Give your regular customers a 20 percent maintenance discount when they schedule an appointment from November to the end of December. This time of year, customers should make sure their heaters are working properly to dodge that winter chill.

Rebates: To your most loyal customers, offer them the opportunity to schedule a maintenance request before the first of December (or January), and be eligible to receive a $25 rebate. They can instantly sign up for the rebate, which will take about two weeks to process and can be mailed directly to them just in time for the holidays.

Groupon coupons: Offer your customers coupons for discounted services. They can purchase these deals through the website and then redeem them during service. You could offer a discounted heating or cooling service, tune-up, inspection, or water flush.

Give cool swag: Swag helps establish cordial customer relationships. When homeowners feel closer to you, they are simply less likely to take their business elsewhere. Those tokens of appreciation also help your business stay in front of your customers. You could offer branded mugs with packets of hot cocoa, or a store calendar. Check your budget and use your imagination.

This holiday season, don’t be like Scrooge. Get in the holiday spirit and show your customers you appreciate their business.
